Apple: External forces make the iPhone screen to crack not the battery

August 28th, 2009 iphone

According to a BBC report, Apple is denying any problem related to the cracks of some iPhones’ screen recently reported in France, UK, Holland and Sweden that have forced Apple to investigate the matter.

Apple said that all cases investigated demonstrated that all those screen cracks were due to external forces applied directly to the iPhone and that the battery in none of them have nothing to do:

“To date, there are no confirmed battery overheating incidents for iPhone 3GS and the number of reports we are investigating is in the single digits,” Apple said in a statement.

Apple has sold 26 million iPhones and 200 million iPods to date.

“The iPhones with broken glass that we have analysed to date show that in all cases the glass cracked due to an external force that was applied to the iPhone.”
