Apple: External forces make the iPhone screen to crack not the battery

According to a BBC report, Apple is denying any problem related to the cracks of some iPhones’ screen recently reported in France, UK, Holland and Sweden that have forced Apple to investigate the matter.

Apple said that all cases investigated demonstrated that all those screen cracks were due to external forces applied directly to the iPhone and that the battery in none of them have nothing to do:

Rumors have been rampant about who will carries the iPhone in China and finally We got the official word from China Unicorn, they clearly state that they have reached a 3-year agreement with Apple to provide the iPhone in China mainland, launching the iPhone in the fourth quarter. Two or three weeks ago We heard about China Unicorn buying 5 million iPhone, something that was immediately shut down by Unicorn, but could end up being true based on the 140+ million user Unircond handles. Those 5 Million iPhones could mean a little piece for China Unicorn, but for Apple is the sign of its growing business.

Apple’s iPhone will soon receive a more enterprise-friendly version of firmware and security enhancements, resulting in Gartner, Inc. recommending “appliance-level” support status once the improvements are released. During the initial launch of the iPhone, Gartner analysts expressed concern over some security issues with the device, but recently announced enhancements, expected to be delivered in June 2008, have caused Gartner to change its recommendation.

Buzz Technologies releases Email Anywhere for the iPhone

In a desperate bid to increase use by corporate users, Apple is currently in production to build support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for its iPhone device. Buzz Technologies Inc has today released Email Anywhere, an email platform that has accomplished the Microsoft Active Sync support already. The service allows any corporation to have all their emails loaded onto the Buzz Platform making them instantly available on any remote device including iPhone. The service features will allow IT departments to more easily monitor the devices on a corporate network as well as enforce security in the event of a lost device.

Yahoo! News: Apple may offer free music access

Apple Inc. is negotiating with record labels over a deal to give iPhone and iPod customers free access to the entire iTunes music library if they pay extra for the devices.

The Financial Times is reporting that the sticking point in the talks is how much Cupertino-based Apple will pay the record labels for the access. The newspaper cites unnamed music industry sources for Wednesday’s report.

Apple declined to comment.

Apple’s iPhone roadmap for businesses
On March 6, Apple will announce an iPhone “software roadmap” for businesses. Apple is also expected to release a set of tools that will let developers write software for the iPhone, which could alleviate the fears of tech departments who feel the device isn’t appropriate for the workplace. (That’s the announcement Apple sent out today on the left, which may be the most blatant overture to businesses the company has made in recent times.)

US researchers have created a nano-fiber textile that harvests energy from movement, paving the way for clothing that could one day power an iPod or other wearable electronic devices, according to a study published Wednesday.

Using the same mechanical principle as a self-winding watch, but on scale measured in billionths of a meter, tiny nano-generators can scavenge “wasted” energy from sound waves, vibrations, or even the human heart beat.

News.com: China Mobile running 400,000 unlocked iPhones

As many as 400,000 unlocked iPhones were running on China Mobile’s cellular network at the end of last year, according to market research firm In-Stat.

Apple sold 3.7 million iPhones in 2007, and more than 10 percent of them are in China, In-Stat said, attributing that information to China Mobile. That helps explain part of the “iPhone gap” created by the difference between Apple’s shipping totals for 2007 and the activations reported by its carrier partners in the U.S. and Europe.
